I'm really tired today because...

I saw the Sex and the City movie last night.

My mom won tickets to a free screening. She wound up not feeling well, so I ended up watching it by myself. And now I have no one to discuss it with! I liked it, and recommend it to any fan of the show.

I don't know how many fans of the show are the type that think it's a template for their life, like it's a lifestyle guide instead of entertainment, but I, obviously, am not one of them. I enjoy the show for what it is-- entertainment. And the movie has all the same elements--the writing is sharp and the humor is sparkling, and the clothes and shoes and the general over-the-topness are all there. In short, it's entertaining.

The only thing I'll say (this won't give anything away, don't worry) is that I did not see Dreamgirls, but after seeing Jennifer Hudson in this, I'm shocked that she won an Oscar. SJP makes it seem effortless, but you'll really appreciate her talent in her scenes with J Hud.

I'm excited to see it. I liked the show- and yes- for entertainment. Sadly, I have a handful of friends who want to have the lives they see portrayed on the screen.

As for JenHud I think she was pretty good in Dreamgirls, but perhaps that was because she was opposite Beyonce... so who knows.
