What kind of optimist are you?

Optimist
op·ti·mism
Pronunciation: 'äp-t&-"mi-z&m
Function: noun
Etymology: French optimisme, from Latin optimum, noun, best, from neuter of optimus best

1: an inclination to put the most favorable construction upon actions and events
2: to anticipate the best possible outcome

I am the first option. I think number 2 can lead to a lot of unfulfilled expectations, which in turn lead to disappointment and then unhappiness. But, if you don't expect the best, and try to take something good out of what does happen, well, what's bad about that?

Unfortunately I believe I am number 2. Which in turn does lead to disappointment. Wah.
